Citizen Science in Action. The Greenacre Green and Golden Bell Frog Conservation Project

Dr Arthur White

In 2020, the Frog and Tadpole Study Group (FATS) entered an agreement with Strathfield Council to conserve the endangered Green and Golden Bell frog at Greenacre. FATS is a community group that has wide expertise in from survey, management and conservation. The council has a dis-used block of land behind industrial sites at Greenacre that is wished to be converted into a conservation area. This talk will describe the principles and practices of creating a conservation area that is focused on a single species in a densely populated urban area. The project has been running for over three years and there is now ample data to describe the progress of this project.
